Q: I’m always afraid to wear green and red together or black and orange because I’m afraid of looking like I dressed for the holiday in the wrong month. Should I get over my fears? If so, how?
A: Very legit question. I, too, share your concern. My advice? Always mix an additional color in with the holiday colors in question. For example, the denim shirt below or the print blouse adds colors other than just the obvious two holiday colors. It also helps to wear neutral outerwear and accessories- jacket, handbag, shoes and jewelry. Make one of the main pieces of the outfit not in the holiday color palette. Your top and bottom should not be red and green. Mix in neutrals to ensure no one will ask you to go trick-or-treating or caroling.
