Q: I want to try booties for Spring, but have no idea what to pair with them. Help!
A: Booties are perfect for the Spring since the weather can be somewhat unpredictable; and don’t be afraid of suede. Cashmere, suede and thicker silk fabrics are great for the cooler days of Spring. Pairing booties with skirts and dresses is a great way to show off your legs, but be careful- your hemline should be above the knee or to the ankle, so that you don’e end up looking stumpy. A fitted pencil skirt is the exception to this rule. Otherwise, you’ll find your look doesn’t flow well or compliment your figure. Booties also work well with your favorite straight or skinny jeans rolled right above the ankle, or even shorts- denim cutoffs and silk trouser shorts.
Neutral booties are great since they elongate the legs and go with any color in your closet.
Booties with rolled jeans is a great way to dress up jeans and a t-shirt.
You don’t have to have legs like Olivia Palermo to rock this look.
Don’t be afraid of booties! All ages and body types can make this work.
